New Directing Drop! Wait… Cherrye’s Directing Films now?!

Good People, Good News!

My 2nd film directing project, a Music Video I directed for the Bottom Dollars single “Weapon” just dropped, and your girl couldn’t be more ready for it to drop TODAY.

A Few Things:

1)Today is 9/15. This would have been Eric Garner’s 50th Birthday, were he not murdered by police officers in NY using excessive force.

2) Cherch from the Bottom Dollars, text me the lyrics of this song shortly after the footage of Mr. Garner’s murder surfaced and was seen everywhere. Same shit, 6 years later.

3). After being killed in her home over a mistaken address and excessive force in Louisville, Kentucky on March 13th, 2020, a settlement to the tune of $12 Million was reached between the murdered Breonna Taylor’s family and Louisville PD. What is a life worth?

This piece wasn’t about showing how angry we are. This was about highlighting the ways we teach, rebel, march, create and live like we’re dying.

My favorite artists are my friends. They keep me brave and moving.

Black Art Matters. Black Lives Matter. Still and Always.

Laguardia Performing Arts Center, July 18-20th, 2016 @ 7pm

Ticket Reservations:

I'm in this play about identity.

How devastating that in real life, perceptions of identity can lead to I or my father or my best friend or my love being killed in cold blood, the footage going viral and the perps perhaps walking...probably walking.

How fortunate to have a black body, my own black body to use for storytelling, for affirming life, for holding the mirror up to nature.

Come check out this powerful piece of theater!
